refinished ornamental cast iron single pocket door escutcheon likely designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin company, new britain, ct. the brushed and sealed metal backplate contained a deeply recessed handle with a centrally located keyhole. the sliding door hardware likely had a bronze or brass finish when first installed. dates to the 1890's. additional hardware bearing the same pattern can be found in the hardware category. measures 4 3/4 x 2 x 1/4 inches.
