c. 1940's american industrial modified stationary factory machinist stool fabricated by the pollard brothers, chicago, il. the four-legged stool contains an angled iron base with riveted and welded joints for added reinforcement. the leg portions welded against the bottom-most stretchers have been altered with the addition of slid steel washers for stability purposes. the original maple wood backrest is supported by two bent steel brackets. the circular-shaped wood seat is not original to the stool. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the wood seat and backrest have been lightly refinished and sealed. measures approximately 15 x 15 x 25 inches.
