all original late 1920's antique american industrial surface-mount heavy cast bronze metal single-sided chicago hotel service elevator cab or car "call" push button plaque designed and fabricated by or for the otis elevator company, new york city, ny. the rectangular-shaped plaque contains two circular-shaped openings (where the composite or bakelite buttons where mounted) above and below the "up" and down" lettering. between the buttons contains instructions that read, "push button until car arrives." the recessed region retains the original shiny brass-plated finish, along with the baked-on black enameled inlay. nicely aged surface patina throughout. top and bottom screw holes for mounting purposes. measures 8 x 3 inches. three matching plaques available. two of the three retain the original push buttons and components mounted against the backside of the plaques. priced individually. measures 3 x 8 1/4 inches.
