recently salvaged 19th century antique american eastlake style solid cherry wood interior residential fireplace half-mantel designed and fabricated by c.j.l. meyer & sons company, chicago, ills. the victorian era salvaged chicago fireplace mantel is comprised of cherry wood with original shelf and opposed pilasters. the original finish is largely intact and mostly uniform throughout. the structurally sound and stable half-mantel dates to the 1880's.
