very well-proportioned 19th century antique american victorian era solid oak wood fireplace mantel with huge firebox opening. the darkly stained salvaged chicago mantel was fabricated by the palmer-fuller company, chicago, ills. the original bevel-edged mirror is intact and free from damage. the ball-and-stick ornament below the header is in great shape. the solidly constructed mantel dates to the late 1880's. great overall condition, considering age.
