exceptional c. 1900's salvaged chicago interior residential parlor mantel comprised of quarter-sawn or "tiger stripe" solid oak wood with original finish. the full-sized mantel was likely fabricated by or for the curtis door and sash company, chicago, ills. the mantel contains full columns with capitals and bases. the frieze retains the original ornamental applique. the header and mirror are accentuated with fanciful trimwork. great overall condition.
