original late 1920's vintage industrial single-sided flush mount cast iron plaque salvaged from an old centrifugal pump originally housed in the old (non-extant) cook county hospital power plant. the deeply embossed letter name plaque retains the original silver metallic and red enameled finish. the weil pump company (based in chicago), founded in 1927, began manufacturing centrifugal pumps used to move fluids through piping systems. the plaque measures 18 x 2 3/4 inches.
