early 1920's original and fully functional american antique medical cook county hospital four-legged hospital operating room stool designed and fabricated by william v. willis & co., philadelphia, pa. the bent tubular steel cabriole style legs are reinforced with an all-welded joint solid steel rod x-brace. the solid threaded post or spindle is tightly affixed to the base and/or seat. the pressed and formed revolving seat is comprised of heavy gauge steel with original white porcelain enameled finish remaining largely intact. the brushed metal base has been sealed with cleat coat finish. the base measures approximately 14 x 14 inches. the height ranges from 19 to 28 inches. the seat diameter is 13 inches.
