refinished 19th century antique american residential surface mount rim lock keeper with beveled edge. likely designed and fabricated by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the irregular-shaped keeper is comprised of cast iron with a uniform surface finish. contains two opposed screw holes for mounting purposes. measures approximately 4 3/4 x 1 3/8 inches.
