early 20th century original and intact american industrial "loxon" galvanized steel light bulb guard or cage designed and fabricated by the mcgill mfg. co., valparaiso, ind. the lamp guard was originally outfitted with specialized screws that could be removed with the use of a key. the openings have since been replaced with regular threaded set screws. the galvanized finish remains largely intact. measures 3 1/2 x 6 inches.
