intact c. 1940's american industrial mobile filing cabinet designed and fabricated by the service metal fabricators, chicago, ills. the industrial cabinet with four-legged angled steel base was advertised as being apart of their "little hercules line." the pressed and folded steel cabinet retains the original green enameled finish. the bassick swivel caster are in good working condition. the cabinet compartment is accessed by removing the detachable top. the mobile filing cabinet was salvaged from the zim mfg. company factory. founded in 1919, the zim manufacturing company specialized in the manufacture of automobile specialty tools and gauges, housewares, and other hand tools. the extant factory is located on the far west side of chicago.
