rare original american antique advertising sign box fabricated specifically for the storage of single-sided stamped steel or tin signs made by the leslie sign company of chicago. the open-ended lightweight lithographed pressed and folded steel box contains a centrally located stationary divider replete with multiple slots for the storage of signs arranged by a number or reference code. this particular leslie sign box contained signs numbered from 101-124, with a numerically ordered listing of each sign's message. the box was likely found in a hardware store or traveling salesman (we possess other with carrying handles, etc.). the sign box measures 7 1/2 x 8 1/2 x 10 inches.
