civil war-era antique american privy dug vibrantly colored emerald green glass improved pontil soda or mineral water bottle with a tapered collar and/or lip with single protruding ring. the bottle's long and narrow neck contains very crude "stretch" marks. this variation contains a more squared shoulder. the two-leaf mold blown bottle is a typical "philly green" bottle, with a rich and distinctive green color. the bottler and/or fabricator was george s. twitchell of philadelphia, pa. twitchell's name, along with a large block letter "t" is positioned above the city's name, which is abbreviated along the bottom, with a small raised letter "a" followed by a dot. whittle marks and glass seeds are found throughout. great overall condition considering age.
