exceptional antique american industrial single city of chicago incandescent street light lamp post bracket fixture designed and fabricated by the general electric company, schenectady, ny. this type of fixture was known as the "right angle bend series" bracket, equipped with original enameled porcelain dome radial wave reflector. the general electric "novalux" bracketed street light contains bent steel pipe measuring 58 inches in length. the height of the exterior light fixture is 29 1/2 inches. the radial wave or crimped porcelain metal shade with skirt is 14 inches in diameter. dates to 1918-20. the fixture was acquired from the collection of a retired chicago street & sanitation employee. this type of fixture would likely have used a mazda "c" type incandescent lamp. nicely worn and weathered finish. the iron and/or steel components have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer.
