single early 20th century exterior residential wall-mount entrance door backplate with matching push button used in conjunction with an electric doorbell system. the ornamental stamped or pressed brass backplate with top and bottom fleur-de-lis design motifs was likely fabricated by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the original composite push button is intact and fully functional. the original copper-plated finish remains largely intact. the backplate contains a total of four square holes for mounting purposes. measures 2 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.
