original and partially intact early 20th century american antique ornamental cast iron wall-mount exterior residential electric doorbell. the exact fabricator is not known. the two-part housing, consisting of base plate and box are comprised of cast iron with nice foliated scrollwork ornament. the interior components are largely intact. the centrally located push button was lost long ago. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. measures 4 3/4 x 3 x 2 inches.
