highly ornate early 1900's interior residential cast brass doorknob backplate possibly fabricated by the reading hardware co., reading, pa. the backplate contains a protruding thimble, single keyhole opening and two pre-drilled screw holes for mounting purposes. the intricately designed and visually striking pierced metal leafage greatly enhances the overall look. naturally aged surface patina left intact. measure approximately 10 x 2 3/8 inches.
