hard to find intact and all original c. 1850's seldom found privy dug richly colored green t. & r. morton soda or mineral water bottle with a deep kick up. the slender bottle has a long, narrow neck finished with an applied tapered blobtop that exhibits slop and whittling. the body is embossed, "t & r morton / 1851 / newark n. j". on the reverse is a centrally embossed letter "m" in a large script style. the base has a round, uneven kickup with heavy residue from the iron pontil rod. crudities consistent with age, including bubbles, whittling, and minor surface wear. great overall condition for a privy dug bottle.
