mid-19th century original and intact cleaned (i.e., tumbled) privy dug emerald green glass squat-shaped porter bottle designed and fabricated by or for j.m. kirschenmann, bottler, philadelphia, pa. the brilliantly colored porter bottle was likely fabricated around 1860. the applied collar or lip with slight taper and single ring is free from cracks or breaks. the bottle has a "smooth base" that is slightly "kicked up." the name, street and address of the bottle are nicely embossed along the front of the bottle. the backside contains a very fanciful oversized letter "k." the long neck and body are filled with several "seeds" or air bubbles. the crudity is stunning. the philadelphia green glass bottle is in great condition, considering age.
