gorgeous 19th century original american high victorian era arch top or "eyebrow" interior residential stained glass transom window designed and fabricated by the flanagan biedenweg company, chicago, il. a variation of this design with a similar color scheme was identified in a period catalog. the remarkable window is incredibly huge, with original structurally sound and solid pine wood sash frame intact. the stained glass window was salvaged from a chicago mansion constructed around 1883 and demolished in 1967. the visually striking window is comprised largely of peach-colored cathedral glass with hammered texture. the centrally located floral medallion or rosette is surrounded by clusters of faceted glass jewels, oversized rondels and leafage with ruby red jewel berries. the lead caming is original and in good condition, considering age. very little bowing evident. the window contains a few hairline cracks and a few damaged panels on the right side of the window. otherwise, the overall condition is quite satisfactory. 85 1/2 inches x 2 inches x 24 inches.
