original and well-maintained late 1930's antique american industrial heavily reinforced welded joint steel mesh strainer basket salvaged from a steam gauge works plant located on the south side of chicago. the single compartment strainer basket enclosed with rigid diamond pattern steel mesh was fabricated by the union steel products co., albion, mi. the basket features two matching interlocking drop handles comprised of bent solid steel rods. the welded joint frame consists of heavy gauge cold-rolled flat bars. the basket remains in great condition, considering age. brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. only one available. measures 24 x 16 x 12 inches.
