unusually shaped original c. 1920's antique american industrial stationary die cutting press with a mostly uniform brushed bare metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the exact foundry, fabricator or machine model is not known. the low-lying machine base was salvaged from a chicago factory specializing in sheet metal fabrication. the machine that was supported by the robust cast iron base was removed long ago. the unique base is held together with two solid steel tie rods or stretchers. the perforated cast iron components are free from breaks, cracks or past repairs. the base would make for an ideal coffee table.
