robust early 20th century american industrial freestanding cast iron work stand or pedestal comprised of a repurposed machine base and newly added hardwood tabletop. the exact fabricator is not known. the tapered stand with outswept base plate has been brushed down to bear metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the machine base contains a unique projecting ring tightly affixed to the stand. the wood top with beveled edge apron can be replaced if need be. 16x10x32 - with the foot coming to 8x10
