oversized c. 1930's american industrial pressed and folded unrestored galvanized steel tool chest or box possibly fabricated by union tool chest works, rochester, ny. the upper section contains a unique multifaceted or pyramidal-shaped hinged top with old leather handle and riveted joint name plaque of the engineer who owned the chest. the front side contains three working hasps. the surface wear and rust has been left untouched. the interior compartment is spacious and mostly undivided. the corners and edges contain riveted joint metal straps for added strength and stability. salvaged from the cook county hospital powerhouse prior to its demolition in 2010. 24 inches x 12 inches x 15 inches.
