early 1930's antique american original single green porcelain enameled "appleton" factory light fixtures designed and fabricated by the appleton electric company, chicago, il. the single electric light fixture contains a well-maintained factory green porcelain or vitreous enameled cold-rolled shallow bowl shade with a uniform white reflective underside. the threaded end steel post or rod is affixed to the original ball joint pivoting ceiling "cap" or canopy. both components used to support the light fixture have a distressed surface finish. the single "weather resistant" socket is original and in working order. measures 16 inches in diameter x 25 inches high.
