lot of three all original antique american c. 1920's art deco freestanding chicago soda fountain or diner revolving top stools designed and fabricated by the hazeltine & perkins drug co., grand rapids, mich. the matching upright stools are comprised of cast iron with the original porcelain or vitreous enameled finish largely intact. the well-maintained and uniquely shaped stools were salvaged from a north side chicago soda fountain shop believed to have opened around 1921-23. the black porcelain revolving "bottle cap" seats are lightly grooved or fluted along the edges. the tapered pedestals with unusual pyramidal-shaped bases are structurally sound and solid. the stark white pedestal bases are affixed to the floor with cast iron flanges and threaded fittings. remarkable find, especially in this unrestored condition. base measures 10 1/2, seat measures 11 1/2 inches, height measures 30 1/2 inches. priced individually.
