c. 1900's original and nicely weathered heavy duty rock hard maple wood butcher shop table top or slab fabricated by john boos & co., effingham, il. the completely intact and structurally sound thick wood maple wood slab consists of several strips of wood side-glued and bolted together with through-bolts. the opposed ends retains the original wood plugs that conceal the deeply recessed bolt heads. the solid maple wood slab has darkened considerably over time. the wood table top would clean up nicely and can be added to a wide variety of custom bases made of iron or wood. the butcher's table was salvaged from a chicago fulton market processing facility. a similar butcher table with legs was salvaged from the same facility.
