very unique and all original american depression era tramp art "burntwood" wpa art project in the form of the non-extant greek revival style transchu house, located in milwaukee, wisc. wpa artist hattie hollander hand-crafted this wood image depicting the clapboard cottage with surrounding trees and plank wood sidewalk in the foreground. the incised or carved wood image contains gold enameled inlay to accentuate the detail. nicely aged patina. remarkable art piece depicting an early wood frame cottage in mid-19th century milwaukee. measures 18 x 12 inches.
