one of a kind unusual american medical-themed vintage folk art diminutive "mad scientist" laboratory comprised of several "found" metal parts and/or scrap. the steel plate is signed "alanis." the american art piece features what appears to be a sinister surgeon preparing to perform surgery on a patient with praying hands. one of the "tools" appears to be a saw and larger pliers. the patient is shrouded in copper and an hooked up to an i.v. with nearby upright medical gas tank. an overhead medical or surgery room light rests above the patient's bed, supported by a single spring. the patient's body is made up of an old spark plug. very unusual and highly detailed folk or "found" art. measures 7 x 5 1/2 x 7 inches.
