original american depression era lightweight portable galvanized steel toolbox or chest salvaged from a chicago twine factory. the reinforced folded and pressed sheet steel toolbox was likely custom-built. the nicely worn and weathered leather carrying handle contains the workman's name in lightly carved lettering. the bright red enameled steel box with hinged top has a single lockable hasp designed for use with a padlock. 18 1/2 inches x 7 inches x 6 1/2 inches.
