unusual unrestored c. 1940's american vintage industrial freestanding swivel and trunnion type oversized single-bulb searchlight designed and fabricated by the crouse-hinds co., syracuse, ny. the electric incandescent searchlight is comprised largely, if not entirely of non-ferrous materials. the original tempered glass convex lens is original and intact. the spotlight contains a hinged bezel for easy access to the light source. the heavy gauge tubular steel post or upright supporting the spotlight is attached to a slightly flared distressed red enameled pedestal base containing a circular flange with multiple holes for securing to the floor. the searchlight and stand were salvaged from a commercial ship or merchant vessel. only one available. base diameter measures 10 inches, total height measures approximately 82 inches.
