exceptional early 20th century antique american freestanding medical operating theater surgical instrument cabinet designed and fabricated by max wocher & sons co., cincinnati, oh. the heavily reinforced four-legged brushed metal cabinet contains a single pull-out drawer and open-ended bottom compartment below with a spacious interior. the top portion of the cabinet features highly desirable clear glass sidelights, original hinged cabinet door and three thick plate glass shelves with steel brackets. the cook county hospital cabinet was salvaged long ago from basement storage rooms filled with "retired" equipment that had been largely forgotten. the cabinet's interiors have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a cleat coat lacquer. the cast iron legs are strong and stable. great overall condition, considering age. measures 20 x 16 x 59 inches.
