original early 20th century antique american medical fully adjustable hospital operating room "mayo stand" designed specifically for arrangement of instruments used during surgical procedures. the ornamental cast iron mobile stand was designed and fabricated by the columbus aseptic furniture co., columbus, oh. the original "sani" type white porcelain enameled cold-rolled steel instrument tray that sits on the folded or raised edge metal strips is available and/or included with the stand (tray not shown). the stand is fully adjustable in height and rotates 360 degrees. the original hardened rubber bassick swivel casters are in great working condition. the brushed cast iron base has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures 22 x 17 x 44 1/4 inches.
