unique and unusual early 20th century intact and well-maintained freestanding hot air incubator or brooder cabinet designed and fabricated by the des moines incubator company, des moines, ia. the modular cabinet is comprised of both galvanized steel and wood framing with original red paint finish. the two upper compartments retains the original hinged doors with porcelain knob pulls and glass panes for viewing the chicken egg hatching process. the bottom compartment contained a pot that provided the heat source. the pull-out trays contain perforated bottoms. the galvanized steel remains in great shape. measures 19 3/4 x 19 3/4 x 36 inches.
