c. 1900-20 original refinished american antique industrial cast iron stationary "de laval" cream separator machine base designed and fabricated by the de laval cream separator co., chicago, il. the machine base contains a newly added old growth pine wood top salvaged from the boylston specialties factory located in downtown chicago. the refinished cast iron base comes equipped with a detachable curved edge undershelf for additional storage. the flared legs provide added support and stability. the low-lying base with wood top makes for an ideal side table, nightstand, etc. the cast iron base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer to prevent surface corrosion. great overall condition. base measures 13 1/2 inches x 19 inches, stand height measures 24 1/2 inches, 14 inches inches x 18 3/4 inches.
