well-maintained all original and intact c. 1870's antique american salvaged chicago interior residential faux marble fireplace mantel designed and fabricated by the c.b. evans mantel and grate company, cincinnati, oh. the all original mantel contains two sets of brackets or corbels supporting the shelf. the deeply incised design motifs are accentuated with a jet black finish. the mantel was salvaged from a chicago row house constructed shortly after the great chicago fire of 1871.
