seldom found antique american industrial all original four-legged adjustable height factory machinist stool designed and fabricated by the angled steel stool co., plainwell, mich. the all-riveted joint angled steel stool has an early green pan finish applied from top to bottom. the four flared or outswept feet are intact and provide added support and stability. the original thin wood seat inset is fastened firmly in place. the plurality of perforated holes found along the leg extensions provided added flexibility to achieve desired height. the distinctive original detachable two-part contoured backrest contains two pressed and folded cold-rolled steel or wrought iron panels riveted tightly against the surrounding angled frame. the machinist stool was likely fabricated between 1923-28. seat is 14 inches in diameter. measures 15 inches wide x 17 x 40 inches.
