hard to find and completely intact original c. 1940's american vintage industrial cantilevered mobile shelving rack or unit designed and fabricated by the hamilton tool company, hamilton, oh. the unusually small shelf unit was salvaged from an old illinois munitions plant closed shortly after the second world war. the slotted rack is comprised of heavy gauge angled steel. both the rack and detachable or movable shelves are supported by a weighted solid steel platform or deck containing four matching heavy duty double-wheel swivel trucks that were likely fabricated by bassick. each angled front shelf with opposed drop handles has been painstakingly brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the slightly angled and notched rack and base received the same surface treatment. great overall condition. measures 26 x 17 x 56 inches
