original and completely intact american industrial c. 1920's antique wall-mount drinking fountain designed and fabricated by the crane company, chicago, il. the "creta" fountain contains a centrally located chrome-plated cast bronze tap that emits water when the faucet handle is actuated from the side. the round reservoir or bowl is comprised of vitreous enameled earthenware and not the more common white porcelain enameled cast iron variation. the fanciful handle with "spokes" for better handling or grip is original and intact. slightly surface crazing evident. the chicago public school drinking fountain is in remarkable condition, considering age. measures 13 1/2 x 17 1/2 x 15 inches high.
