original c. 1900's early antique american medical interior hospital operating room sink basin stand likely designed and fabricated by the sharp & smith co., chicago, il. the stationary workstation or table contains a large center opening for use with a porcelain enameled steel bowl used to clean and/or soak dressings, etc. the heavy gauge sheet iron bent tubular legs and/or uprights are fastened together with distinctive cast iron fittings. the early medical table contains a cold-rolled sheet iron undershelf for additional storage. the outswept feet retain the original bulbous cast iron footings for added stability. the medical sink basin work stand contains two opposed towel bars protruding slightly away from the top tier. the operating room furniture piece has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures 27 x 17 x 29 inches.
