rare and highly sought after early electric patented electric meter case or enclosure designed and fabricated by or for the fort wayne electric corp., fort wayne, ind. the late 19th century enclosure is comprised of soldered joint yellow brass sheet metal with the original cast bronze manufacturer's plaque prominently displayed along the front. the portal used for viewing the meter dial readings retains the original glass inset. the unusually shaped electric meter case as likely installed in a factory or large commercial building switchboard. the internal components were removed long ago.
