exceptional all original and intact post-fire chicago interior residential gray marble fireplace mantel designed and fabricated by the northwestern marble & granite company, chicago, ills. the finely detailed parlor mantel was salvaged from a downtown chicago residence built around 1874. the marble mantel features lightly incised floral motifs along the jambs and frieze panel. the original shelf is intact and free from damage. the surface patina is largely uniform throughout.
