mid-19th century william pond "knickerbocker" cobalt bue multifaceted soda water bottle. the 10-sided iron pontiled bottle retains the original oval-shaped "blob" lip applied on a squat and tapered neck. trace amounts of iron from pontil rod evident on the base. samuel smith (also of new york) produced a soda water around the same time with the same name. very few of these bottles embossed with the merchant's initials are found. likely fabricated between 1849-1855. measures 7 1/2 inches in height.
