all original american industrial c. 1910-20 factory office stenographer's telescoping table or desk lamp manufactured by the h.g. mcfaddin & co., new york. the fully adjustable early electric fixture retains the original cased glass emeralite shade. the telescoping arm and pyramidal-shaped base are comprised of yellow brass with a nicely aged surface patina. the concealed adjustable clamping device is original and intact. the extension arm can accommodate a variety of desk widths. the single light fixture has been rewired with period appropriate braided cloth cord. the bryant incandescent pull-chain socket is original to the lamp.
