c. 1900's richardsonian romanesque style oversized exterior doorknob backplate fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the "realmont" pattern doorknob backplate is comprised of cast bronze with a mostly uniform surface patina. the large door escutcheon contains a circular opening for a cylinder lock. the wrought brass collar or thimble is original and intact. measure approximately 11 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches.
