two matching antique american oversized doorknob backplates salvaged from a chicago two-flat residence undergoing demolition. the c. 1900's vestibule door backplates were likely fabricated by russell & erwin or possibly sargent. the doorknob escutcheons are comprised of stamped steel with original brass-plated finish or "wash" mostly intact. each backplate contains four screw holes, thimbles and circular openings for cylinder locks. measure approximately 12 3/4 x 3 inches. priced for the pair.
