american vintage industrial brushed metal "localite" triple joint task lamp designed and fabricated by the fostoria pressed steel corp., fostoria, oh. the pressed and formed steel articulating lamp contains a rolled rim slim helmet or "pear" reflector-shade with integrated socket housing with on/off toggle switch. original insulated black rubber lamp cord. the task lamp was originally mounted to a factory machine shop lathe. fostoria began producing the "localite" (in various configurations) beginning in 1918. the ball-and-socket joints are in good working condition. several variations available. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. excellent working condition. measures approximately 30 inches long.
