impressive all original and well-maintained (possibly an "attic" bottle and not dug) mid-19th century bluish green or aqua green iron pontil "premium soda water" glass bottle designed and fabricated by or for u. & i.d. clinton, woodbridge, conn. the american made antique bottle contains an applied blob top with slope-over evident. the front of the bottle's body contains deeply embossed lettering, identifying maker and city. the backside of the bottle contains the phrase "premium soda water." the iron residue very apparent in the deeply sunken or "kick-up" base. the crudity, in the form of whittle marks, seeds, etc., makes this early american glass bottle so distinctive and rich with character. the fabricator or glasshouse for this two-leaf molded glass bottle is not known.
