matching pair of original late 19th or early 20th century antique american made industrial cast iron lathe machine bases designed and fabricated for the c.c. wormer machinery company, detroit, mich. the freestanding cast iron bases feature a nice a-shaped designed, with flared legs and an arch top central opening. the feet are free from breaks or cracks. both heavy iron bases have been brushed, sanded and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original riveted stamped brass plaque bearing the name of the detroit-based "secondhand" distributor, founded in the 19th century, is firmly attached to the side of one of the legs. priced for the pair. measures 23 x 12 x 26 1/4 inches.
