hard to find and highly sought after all original early 20th century (1906-1910) american industrial oversized three-legged mobile camera stand designed and fabricated by the century camera division, eastman kodak company, rochester, ny. the "model 4a" century studio stand is comprised of solid mahogany wood with a dark cherry finish. the curvaceous legs are bolted tightly against two baked black enameled cast iron support brackets that house the centrally located square-shaped self-locking jack. the original casters and oversized floor stop lever are intact and original to the stand. the jack is moved up and down with the use of a large cast iron wheel with finely turned crank handle. the platform or deck contains a fanciful mitered joint apron with deep grooves. the cast iron titling mechanism operates flawlessly. the original fanciful brass and baked enameled maker plaque is predominately displayed along the front apron. excellent overall condition. measures 29 x 31 x 48 inches.
